have addressed some of the most commonly asked questions regarding
our sales, shipping and returns policies. The Jembetat Gallery of
African Art is committed to offering quality objects and ensuring
client satisfaction. If you do not find the answer to your question

What
we sell
The Jembetat Gallery offers objects primarily from Western and Central Africa. The owner, Robert Ament, has lived and traveled in Africa since 1989. He has been collecting Africa Art for more than twelve years, and personally selects each piece based on a number of criteria such as tribal significance, age, aesthetic form and rarity.
Placing
orders
You may place orders by e-mail, postal mail,
and telephone. We will be glad to answer any of your specific questions
regarding the pieces. Due to an extensive travel schedule, please
leave a telephone message and you will receive a response as soon
as possible.
Shipping
policies
The Jembetat Gallery ships world wide UPS
(insured) to the client. At the time of shipping there will be an
accompanying photograph of the object in its shipped condition.
If the object appears to have been damaged in any way, please contact
the Gallery immediately. Do not return the object until UPS has
inspected the piece for damage.
Sales
tax
For New York State residents, an 8% sales
tax applies. For all others, it is assessed according to New York
State Law.
Returns
The Jembetat Gallery's online return
policy is to accept returns for any reason within thirty days of
postmark if the object or objects are for any reason not acceptable.
The object must be returned in original condition and shipped insured.
If the object is damaged in any way, the customer is responsible
for the entire purchase price of the object. The return shipping
(insured) is the responsibility of the customer.
Our returns policy at our Rochester location differs from our online
web site policy. Purchases made in person at our Rochester gallery
are non-refundable due to the fact that all objects have been inspected
at time of sale. Exchanges are welcome within thirty days.
